Emergency Medical Technicians provide out of hospital emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical services (EMS) system. EMTs have the basic knowledge and skills necessary to stabilize and safely transport patients ranging from non-emergency and routine medical transports to life threatening emergencies. Emergency Medical Technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response system, under medical oversight.
The Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Online is an online course that can be completed in less than 6 months.
This is a ONLINE EMT program.
- 1 - 6 Month Self Paced EMT-B Program
- Three (3) Scheduled Classroom Sessions (Not consecutive)
- Scheduled after online portion is completed and passed with a 80% .

Description
The EMT Basic course is designed for the student that has an interest in entering the medical field or becoming an EMT. We facilitate the knowledge and skills necessary for the student to pass the National Registry Exam and perform as a competent and confident EMT. This program strives to assist the student in obtaining their future goal in an EMS Career.
Prerequisite
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Clear criminal background report
- Clear drug screen (given at campus)
- Documentation of all required immunizations (submit before class deadline)
- G.E.D. or High School Diploma
- CPR Certification (American Heart Association - BLS Provider)

- 2 payments of $300.00 will be scheduled and completed before classroom portion is completed
- 1st payment will be due in 30 days from enrollment
- 2nd payment will be due in 90 days from enrollment

- Hepatitis B (HBV) (2 Doses Required - 1 month apart)

- Influenza (Flu) (current flu season)
- Tetanus, Diptheria, Pertusis (Tdap) (within 10 years)
- Varicella (2 Doses - 1 month apart)
- Tuberculosis (TB Skin Test) (Negative Skin Test result within 1 year) or Negative Chest X-Ray within 2 years **positive skin test must be included with a negative chest x-ray result
